The Wheels of Change
The wheels of change are in motion at my employer. Yesterday, I officially made it known to my boss that I intended to leave the firm to go to graduate architecture school. I was not sure what his reaction would be to the news, but he was genuinely supportive and excited for me. One concerning thing he did say was that in the event the firm asks you to leave prior to the end of July, he wanted me to be prepared for that. What?!? Monica and I had discussed this extensively and this was a huge concern for us because we need to maximize our capital intake before my income goes to $0. I really don’t foresee that happening and didn’t see that as any risk prior to my announcement, but now there is a slight hesitation. I’m confident that they will respect the fact that I’m making this announcement with ample time and have committed to making this transition as smooth as possible. Unfortunately, I have to keep it under wraps for a little while until all the appropriate people have been notified and next steps have been established. More to come!
